Outcomes

Our Sixth Form results are outstanding and the DfE Performance Tables for 2019 – bearing in mind the data was not published in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic – placed us at the top of the state schools in Staffordshire by a clear margin.

The DfE measurements are being undertaken in a more limited way for the next two years as the impact of Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) through the COVID years rolls through,

The DfE Performance Tables for Staffordshire schools with Sixth Forms can be seen here and our results have been consistently strong over the last three years.

The 2019 results are displayed below and all indications were that the 2020-2021 COVID / CAG results would have maintained standards:

A-Level Qualifications Progress / Results = Top 20% of Schools
Academic Qualifications Progress / Results = Top 20% of Schools
Vocational Qualifications Progress / Results = Top 20% of Schools
Average Grade = C+
Student Completion of Courses = 98.2%

Our 2022 A-Level results saw students achieve an average grade of a B grade against a national average of a C grade. Likewise, our vocational results saw an average grade of a Distinction against a national average of a Merit grade.

These scores compare very favourably with all other local secondary schools and colleges.

Indeed, these results have seen all of our students placed after leaving our Sixth Form for the last three years and this has included higher-level apprenticeships, like Jaguar Land Rover and Nestle, as well as universities, like Oxford and Birmingham.
