Charities

The school is committed to working with local and national charities in order to develop our students’ awareness and sensitivity to the world around them.

The Interact Club

The Interact Club is a student-led charity organisation that works alongside the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad to raise funds for local charities.

The Interact Club meet with Rotary members on a weekly basis and recent fund-raisers have been successfully undertaken for the Teddy Trust, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, MIND and Save the Children.

The activities are planned and delivered by the students and have included collections, cake sales and sponsored events.

The PTFA

The Friary PTFA has benefitted from a major upsurge in membership and activities and the student body play a major part in supporting them in the running of their events.

This includes students helping to stage Own Clothes Days, run Summer Sizzler stalls, attending PTFA events and advising the PTFA on where best to spend their funds.

The PTFA and the School Council work closely together to ensure the student voice has a real impact on the developments in the school

House Charities

After much discussion and debate, the student leadership teams for each House have each decided on their chosen charity to support and fundraise for this year:

Darwin are supporting Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, who provide care and support for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

Garrick will support the Lichfield Food Bank who provide food and toiletries to local Lichfield families whoa re struggling to make end meet.

Johnson will raise funds for St Giles Hospice, who provide respite and palliative care, as well assisting those who have family members with a potentially incurable illness.

Seward are supporting the Midlands Air Ambulance, who operate 3 of the iconic all-red emergency helicopters.

Our students have been passionate about backing their chosen local charities and on having an impact in our community. In fact, there are personal links between some of our students and the chosen charities, which make these partnerships even more meaningful.

Although fund-raising will go on throughout the year, each House has a dedicated Hose Week during the year to raise awareness for their chosen charity.

While all the charities chosen are worthwhile causes in their own right, also at stake is school’s Charity Cup, which is awarded on an annual basis to the House who’ve raised the most funds by the end of the year.
