Year 10 Partnership Evening

Yesterday evening we welcomed our Year 10 families into school for a well‑attended Partnership Evening. Staff delivered presentations outlining how students can make a strong start on their new courses and how best to approach the next crucial 18 months of their school journey.

Senior staff provided specialist sessions for parents and carers focusing on key areas of support: achieving success in English and Maths, thriving in Vocational subjects, and making the most of wider opportunities such as trips, visits and extra‑curricular activities. Families also heard about the forthcoming Year 10 Work Experience programme, including how it connects to future careers and the development of essential skills.

The Hall was virtually full, reflecting the fantastic support from our families and the shared commitment to helping our Year 10 students achieve their very best.

Mark Drury, Headteacher, said: "Partnership Evenings are a well-established feature of The Friary and some parents will have attended similar ones previously with older siblings. Equally, we always adapt the information to suit each individual cohort. This year, for example, students will have access to a new formal off-site work experience programme. It was great to see so many families attending and showing their support for the opportunities available to our students.”
