Hot Chocolate with the Head

With the term into its third week, Hot Chocolate with the Head has returned and will again be a regular feature during the year ahead.

Miss Wright, Johnson's Head of House, nominated Maisie B (Year 11) for her "fantastic attitude." Miss Wright recognised that Maisie has "grown in a wonderful role model to others," and is working hard toward her GCSEs.  Miss Wright added that Maisie contributes enormously to school life and Johnson House, having already helped to raise a record amount of money as House Charity Captain.

Mariam N (Year 9) was nominated from Seward House by Mr Sleigh, who described her start to the school year as "unbelievable."  Mariam's Head of House also praised her "attitude, effort and attendance." Mr Sleigh commented that Mariam has made great strides recently in a number of areas.

Miss Golder nominated Jayden L (Year 9 ) as her Star of the Week. Jayden's award is for earning a huge amount of House Points at the start of the year. His "superb effort, being helpful and his positive participation," was commended and recognised by Garrick's Head of House.

In a similar vein is Sophie W's nomination. Darwin's Head of House, Mr Britton, nominated Sophie - a Year 10 student - for a "fantastic start to the new academic year," with a phenomenal 270 House Points accrued already.

Mark Drury, Headteacher, said: "After taking Welcome Back assemblies with all year groups, it was great to get back to recognising House Stars of the Week. I know the Heads of House consider their nominations very carefully, and with over 300 students in each House, it is a considerable honour to be singled out by your Head of House in any given week."
