Having got through the first hot day, and looking at the forecast until the end of term, we have decided to allow students to leave their blazers at home for the remainder of term.
This will help make the day easier to negotiate and comes on the back of our recent advice about sun protection, access to water, etc.
Stacey Walsh, Assistant Headteacher, said: “There has to be a common-sense approach to the lovely sunshine so, whilst we expect all other uniform to be retained as usual, the removal of blazers seems the right step to take.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “Having spoken to children, this seems a good call. I can confirm too – having been asked by Jude Thompson (Y10) – that this is not ‘fake news’.”
