The COVID pandemic has limited our younger students’ opportunities to get involved in school shows but we are delighted to flag up that our Year 7-9 students will be putting on ‘Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat’ later in the Summer  Term.

This fantastic production will be performed between Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th June 2022 and all KS3 students are welcome to join the chorus cast. It is a brilliant show and all cast members will have a wonderful time during rehearsals and show week itself.

Richard Hughes, Head of Performing Arts, said: “Rehearsals have just commenced this week, but it is not too late to join the cast. Please let your child know to check the Performing Arts notice board just outside the theatre doors to see when chorus cast members are required for rehearsals on a weekly basis. Also, please keep an eye on The Friary School website to book your tickets soon!”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “Many students and parents have missed out on the experience of school shows and won’t know about the quality, the fun, and the experience that can come out of getting involved. The confidence from appearing on stage, the pride as the family come down to view it, and the empathy and camaraderie of being part of the show team, cannot be under-estimated. We would encourage all students with even the slightest performing aspiration to sign up and get involved.”
