Following a number of training sessions, our Year 7 girls hockey players took on a very strong team from King Edwards. The girls couldn’t wait to get started and from the first whistle charged for the ball making some fantastic runs down the wing with Ellie Irvine scoring a handful of early goals. King Edwards came back strongly scoring during the second half but our team fought on with Alexa Bridges and Eve Morris adding to the final score sheet.

Player of the tournament was awarded to Leila Wallis for her speed, agility and ball precision on the pitch.

Kim Fallows, Subject Leader, said: ’This was an absolutely fantastic mini tournament with some great assists from Leila Wallis and Taylor Mills. Well done girls, an awesome effort and it was lovely to have some great support from the Friary spectators.’
