Libbie Joyce (Year 9) has been rewarded for her successes in Obstacle Course Racing by taking two awards in the event’s international award ceremony.

Libbie took the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement of the Year in Obstacle Racing’ for her successes in events against adult competitors. Additionally, she gained the Runner-Up spot in the Junior OCR Athlete of the Year Award.

The awards were allocated on public votes which meant that she garnered support from across the world; with a whole host of votes coming from her fellow school members and the wider Lichfield community after the votes were publicised by ‘Lichfield Live’.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “It was Libbie and her family who introduced me to the world of Obstacle Course Racing and having seen the challenges of the races and the demands of the training it is hard not to be in awe of Libbie’s achievements. It is fantastic that she has been recognised for her efforts and we are looking forward to her future achievements as more world competitions continue to open up.”
