Each of our four houses have their own special house week – a chance to celebrate the house, explore the shared identity and to raise funds for the house’s chosen charity.

Darwin House is again raising money to support the Acorns Hospice who provide specialist palliative care and support for babies, children and young people. For more information on the excellent service that the Acorns Hospice provide, please see http://www.acorns.org.uk

Next week will see students from Darwin House, and the other 3 houses across the school, take part in a series of events and competitions. We have an ambitious target to raise £1000 so we are calling on all students and parents to help us reach this amount.

Any parents who wish to donate to this wonderful cause can do so via sponsoring their children in a wide range of events this week or by paying their donation via ParentPay.

Some of the activities that students can look forward to are:

  • Cake sales
  • FIFA competition
  • Sponsored walk
  • Football competition
  • Acorn raffle – Chance to win a PS4 for a £1
  • Cinema club
  • Guess the sweets in the jar
  • Staff vs Students badminton match

Alex Britton, Head of Darwin House, said: “We have been supporting the Acorns Hospice for many years now and it is a privilege to be able to represent and support such a fantastic cause with the generosity of our students and parents. I am extremely excited about the activities we will be undertaking next week and thanks to everyone for your continued support.”
