The face mask rules at our school have changed in light of Boris Johnson’s sudden announcement last week that face-masks were not required in classrooms from Thursday 20 January.

Consequently, face-masks are now only required in corridors and communal areas.

Moving forward, the government have now directed that face-masks will not be required anywhere from Thursday 27 January.

However, if any parent wishes for their child to continue wearing their face-masks, then we will support them until Easter 2022 in the first instance.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The face-mask decision took us by surprise. Throughout this pandemic, we have always felt it would be useful to receive advance warning on any changes so that we can be clear in informing both students and parents. Regardless, we are very conscious that parents have very different views on COVID measures, so we will continue to try and follow a sensible and realistic line.”
