Garrick House students voted Lichfield Foodbank their local charity to support and the charity’s annual food collection for Harvest Festival is well under way again this year. Last year they collected 2 ½ tonnes of food and Garrick House are leading the way in helping them to beat it this year.

Consequently, Garrick House are asking for donations over the next week.

Students from Garrick House will visit tutor rooms each morning until Thursday 30th September to collect any donations students have brought in.

Along with tinned and dry food the foodbank has suggested the following donations:

  • Long-Life Milk
  • Tinned Meat
  • Long-life Fruit Juice
  • Snack Bars/Breakfast Bars
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Jam
  • Biscuits
  • Tinned Vegetables
  • Tinned Fish
  • Custard
  • Coffee
  • Rice Pudding
  • Tinned Fruit
  • Chocolate and Sweets
  • Tinned Tomatoes

Steve Cartner, Head of Garrick House, said: “The last time we collected food donations we were overwhelmed with the generosity of our students and parents and hope we can do the same again. Thank you in advance for your support.”
