Our school runs an Elite Performers Scheme where we cater attendance and curriculum support around those students who performance at an elite level outside of school and need that bit of additional back-up to maintain their status.

It is not a status which is given out to any student. There has to be clear evidence they are excelling to a regional, national or international level. Every case is judged on its individual merit, it is solely at the school’s discretion, and strong attendance and commitment to school are a compulsory in order to qualify for this extended provision.

Our current Elite Performers are involved in areas including: swimming, acting, shooting, obstacles course racing, gymnastics, street dance, kick-boxing, boxing, equestrianism, modelling, skiing and dancing.

Indeed, within our school’s ranks are national swimmers, international karate champions, national motocross winners, obstacle course racing stars, footballers attached to top-level professional clubs, national gymnasts, international dancers, international fighters, Olympic-linked equestrians, and models for national campaigns.

Jamie Sleigh, Co-Ordinator of the Elite Performers Scheme, said: “There is a vast array of talent and professionalism in the school and we are keen to encourage and support these students so that they are able to continue to progress to their highest possible stage.”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “This is not a case of abandoning academic priorities because these students have to maintain high standard in school to qualify for the scheme. It is only for those who have already shown the dedication and commitment to reach a high-level before they gain this extra backing. Our school values all pathways in life and if we can add real-life experience and competition to academic demands then we are more than happy to play a part.”
