Y8 students have drawn and painted buildings from our home city in their recent Art work and have been impressive in the work they have produced.

Their work was inspired by their study of artists Stephen Wiltshire and John Piper and has involved experimentation with water colours to develop their skills both in terms of exhibiting the building, but also offering a mood and atmosphere to the work.

The work is available to see on the following Flickr link: https://www.flickr.com/gp/159508225@N03/H0xi32.

Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We achieved outstanding results in Art at both GCSE and in the Sixth Form but it is this early work that very much builds the skills and sets the tone for the high-quality work produced in the older year groups. It is great to be able to share the art work with a wider audience via Flickr.”
