The Summer Sizzler took place last Thursday and, with temperatures soaring out on the field, the acts on the main stage certainly sizzled.

There were a wide range of music acts through – solos, groups, instrumentals, songs from recent school shows. Equally performers ranged from Y6s regaling us with a Disney classic to Y13s coming back to sing their last ever songs after 7 years of gracing the stage.

More widely, there were lots of activities for all ages ranging from bouncy castles to face-painting, a penalty shoot-out manned by our German staff to an Interact cake stall, and super food serveries featuring BBQ and curry dishes next to a well-stocked bar.

The event is always a mammoth one to pull together but the passion and enthusiasm of students, staff, local organisations and businesses, and not least our wonderful PTA means the evening was the usual success.

Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher and event organiser, said: “A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the Summer Sizzler 2018. No matter how small your contribution it all lead to a very successful event. It always amazes me how well things come together at the end and I put it down to great team work right up to the midnight hour when the stage is finally taken  down”.
