Despite a very narrow defeat, the Friary girls were outstanding against Abbotsholme who fielded several older girls in their team for practise purposes.
The Friary fought hard both fielding and batting to finish the match 17-17½ – unfortunately being beaten in the last innings. The team batted exceptionally well achieving high scores, in particular from Hannah Fishwick, Lauren Riley and Keir Boulton.
Despite the age gap the Friary did not let this hinder their performance and continued to push the Abbotsholme team reducing many of their players with some fantastic catches.
Lauren Riley, team captain, said: “It doesn’t matter losing miss, we’ve all had fun and were rewarded with some great refreshments and a bonus some chocolate !”
