Staffordshire County Council have asked us to circulate information relating to their plans to expand the number of school place in Lichfield:

Dear Parent / Guardian

I am writing to inform you of two public consultations which are now taking place in respect of increasing secondary pupil places in Lichfield.

Two projects are proposed to deliver additional school places for September 2019:

• to increase the accommodation at Nether Stowe to provide sufficient capacity for its published admission number (PAN) of 170.

• to enlarge King Edward VI School, Lichfield by 1 Form Entry (FE), totalling 180 Year 7 to Year 11 places using the adjacent leisure centre.

The additional accommodation is necessary in order to mitigate the impact of the new homes within Lichfield. These proposed projects will deliver the first phase of strategic growth for secondary schools in Lichfield. Further secondary school places in Lichfield are required in the future and proposals for these places will be consulted on at the relevant time.

The consultation period for each of these projects will end at 12pm on Monday 15th May 2018. The individual consultation documents can be viewed on each of the school’s websites:

If you wish to make a response please send your comments to the details provided within the individual consultation documents.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “This is important news for local families and we look forward to hopefully being able to offer more places to Year 6 children in the future.”
