As part of our Focus Week on Careers, we welcomed the Careers Bus which dropped in to give advice and a wide range of practical activities that help to prepare and shape students for their next step in life.

There was advice on Further and Higher Education, but also on apprenticeships and employment routes. Equally, there were fun and practical activities designed to spark engagement and ideas on careers destinations and to make sure that students understood the need to plan ahead.

Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “The Careers Bus was extremely popular and certainly has boosted Year11 students who recognise that their looming exams play a massive part in shaping the next few years for themselves and their families. Every grade counts and can save retakes, extra years and future disappointments, so it was great that the encouragement and inspiration we try to foster at school was backed up by the Careers Bus team.”
