Friary 7 vs 0 Lymm High School

Friary Under 15’s national cup team dominated Lymm High School in the last 16 of the national cup at Lichfield City’s McDonalds Community Stadium and ran out comprehensive 7-0 winners.

The girls started the game like a train, scoring an early goal through Hannah Fishwick and this set the tone for the rest of the first half.

The Friary dominated possession and camped out in Lymm High School’s half. The girls were pushing to make the lead more comfortable and in the 28th minute Lydia Hudson topped off the best passing move of the game to make it 2-0 at half time.

Despite going into half time 2-0 up, Mr Foster demanded more from the girls. He set them a challenge of winning the ball back quicker and being more positive in possession which he hoped would be easy to do on the top class 3g pitch provided by Lichfield City.

The message was taken on board by all the girls and the second half was a display of total football from the Friary. Goals from Hannah Fishwick (3), Freya Gregory (2), helped seal a 7-0 victory and secured passage into the quarter finals of the national cup.

A very impressive display from the girls whom should be thoroughly proud of their performance. Well done from Mr Foster and the rest of the P.E team.

Girl of the Match: Too hard to pick with such a resounding victory. All of the girls contributed to a truly dominating display.

A special mention should also be given to Lichfield City and Darren Middleton who kindly allowed The Friary to use their outstanding facility.
