Our Focus Week on National Anti-Bullying Week saw students and staff across the school come together to pledge their support in eradicating bullying.

They decorated a tree with their fingerprints in their House colours with a branch for every year group in the school. The message was very much that we are all individuals but we all come together as one at The Friary School.

Elsewhere, the winners of the Anti-Bullying Creative Competition were Abigail Jelfs and Ellie Tucker from Garrick House in Year 7 for their superb song “Hey Mr Bully”, which they wrote and performed themselves.

Steve Cartner, Head of Garrick House, said: “National Anti-Bullying Week carries a powerful, countrywide message about how everyone has a responsibility come together and eradicate bullying – whether it be in the home at school, or in the workplace. Our Focus Week involved a lot of fun but also carried a serious message and was very much a flagship for our constant stance that any bullying is totally unacceptable.”
