Year 11 students got the opportunity to go to the Skills Show at the NEC to help inform their post-16 routes and careers.

The Skills Show is the nation’s largest skills and careers event and helps to shape the future of a new generation, by helping young people to go further, faster in their careers.
It attracts over 72,000 visitors and provides ‘Have a Go’ experiences that inspire young people to explore careers and motivates them to find out more about the world of work.
Over 200 national and local employers and training organisations will be on on-hand to engage with young people, their parents and educators. There were hundreds of great career ideas to explore, including jobs of the future.
Claire Ballinger, Aspirations Mentor, said: “The Year 11s got a fantastic amount out of the day and are much better placed to plot their life ahead. The activities were fun and engaging, but more importantly really mapped out options and opportunities. The show runs over the weekend so we would encourage those who missed out to go with the families.”
