Our Diwali Focus Week saw special assemblies, musical performances and guests speakers which outlined the purpose of this Hindu ad Sikh festival and made it clear why it was a special time for many students and staff.
There were also parallels drawn with other religious faiths and festivals.
Some tutor groups even benefitted from celebration food from their teachers too – which was quickly demolished at breakneck speed.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We take great pride in reminding our students of their place in multi-cultural Britain and to take on the responsibility of respecting and valuing the communities around them. Our Diwali Focus Week is just part of this commitment and more events later in the year will only add to this message.”
