The close relationships between The Friary School and local primary schools was on show with the French Experience sessions which includes a wide number of Years 5s from excellent schools including Chadsmead, Henry Chadwick and Willows.
The sessions included French, as well as Music and Drama activities that brought the subject to life. The sessions went from technical language skills to singing songs, and on-stage French café scenes to tours of the school.
Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher, said: “It was fantastic to have the Year 5s in. We learn so much from meeting so many of our future students and it is wonderful when they join in Year 7 and recount their experiences from activity days like this. There is a lot more to come but the benchmark has been set very high already.”
