During the last week of the Summer Term, members of the Music department travelled to the region of Lake Garda in Italy. Music Tours happen every two years and there is an enormous amount of planning and preparation involved by all. The students and staff had a fantastic time performing at some great venues and even starred at a jazz festival in the town of Pastrenga near Verona.

The performances proved to be very popular with the locals, as the students provided varied and entertaining programmes. The jazz band, along with acoustic pop acts, a rock band and vocal solos all did themselves proud and produced a series of outstanding performances.

In between the music making, there was much sight-seeing including a day visit to Venice, a boat trip on Lake Garda and even day at Lake Garda Land theme park.

Dave Purkiss, Head of the Performance & Technologies Faculty, said: “The Tour was a resounding success in all respects and the students were fantastic ambassadors for the School, receiving great acclaim for all their performances. The next tour is due for 2019 so the planning begins in September.”
