Y9 students went on a field trip to Birmingham City University to have a look at Higher Education, visit the specialist facilities and to talk to students about what university life is all about.

The trip is linked into a wider programme that sees follow-up talks with the students, connections to careers and grades, and keeping parents in the loop so the students keeping aiming high.

Carrie Cain, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Our Raising Aspirations Programme is a key part of our provision at the school. We believe that students need to see their destinations to connect the school studies with working life. BCU have fantastic facilities and seeing them first-hand makes university a real and viable progression route for our students.”
