We keep a regular eye on what our daily office runners are reading and the last day of term saw Jacob Mieleniewski and Emma Law taking on the responsibility.

We tweeted that Jake was reading ‘Assassin’s Creed’ and Emma was reading ‘River of Ink’ but got a huge surprise on our Twitter feed later in the day.

Helen Dennis, author of ‘River of Ink’, tweeted in how pleased she was to see her book being read by Emma:

My total pleasure! Obviously a brilliant school to celebrate stories like that! Keep reading Emma & Jake & lots of best wishes!

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: We keep our Twitter feed up-to-date to maximise our communication with parents and the community. We are learning that this comes with its own adventures but this sort of positive contact – which connects a renowned author with our Year 7s and their families – shows the real benefits of social media. Helen Dennis is clearly a special author to contact her readers and our school in this way and we were all thrilled she took the time to support us in this way.
