We are delighted to share the news that the National Memorial Arboretum successfully smashed the Guinness World Record for the most individual signatures on a single greeting card.

The initiative was designed to remind our local community that many families find themselves with empty seats at their Xmas table as loved ones have either made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, or have friends or family who are serving away from home.

The card eventually achieved in excess of 17,000 signatures, more than 3,500 above the previous record, and it is wonderful for The Friary School to have had the chance to contribute to the fantastic project.

Lottie Hearn, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Our on-going work with the National Arboretum is an important part of our emphasis on British Values and contributing to our local community so we are thrilled at the news that the world record has been broken. It is the latest in a series of projects we have done with the organisation and we look forward to working with the Arboretum team in the future. We are fortunate to have such a national landmark just up the road.”
